Ian Cooper

Owner & Managing Funeral Director

Email: ian@cooperfuneralhome.ca

Ian received his Ontario Funeral Director’s license in 1989 after graduating from Humber College with a diploma in Funeral Services Education. After 7 years living and working outside of Haldimand County, Ian and his wife Lisa, along with their daughters Rebecca and Sarah returned to Jarvis in 1996 to begin working alongside his father to provide bereavement services to the families of Jarvis and the surrounding area. Two more children, Michael and David, completed their family.  Currently, their 3 eldest children are married and have added 2 grandchildren to that number.

In November of 2004, Ian purchased the majority of share of Cooper Funeral Home and continues to operate it along with Lisa and their caring team of funeral directors and part-time staff.

Ian is very active in his church and community, volunteering on several boards including the Jarvis Board of Trade, Grand Erie Business Centre, Jarvis Lions Club, Parkview Meadows Christian Retirement Village and Jarvis Minor Ball. He also enjoys giving back by coaching the youth of the area, coaching high school football in Waterford and Minor Fastball in Jarvis.

Robin Choffe

Funeral Director

Email: robin@cooperfuneralhome.ca

Robin is the proud mother of three young adults, Millar, Sorrenta and Amythest. She was born and raised in Lanark, Ontario. After her children had grown, she decided to follow her childhood dream and attend Humber College to become a Funeral Director, then chose to lay down her roots in Southern Ontario. In her free time, she enjoys flying kites, riding her bicycle, baking and preserving fruits & vegetables. Her light hearted, small town personality allows her to fit into the Haldimand County Countryside very nicely. She has been a cherished member of the Cooper Funeral Home Team since 2019 and values her teammates as family.

Dave MacLean

Funeral Director's Assistant

Dave has been an integral part of the Cooper Funeral Home team for many years, beginning in 2014.  With a background in policing and management, Dave brings a real understanding of society and the need for dignified ceremony in the grieving process.  You will often see him in the parking lot or front hall and can expect a warm and friendly greeting from him.

Nick Golden

Funeral Director's Assistant

Nick joined the Cooper Funeral and Bereavement Services team in 2021, based primarily in Dunnville, although he will often be seen helping around the funeral home in Jarvis on visitations, services or providing other assistance as required.  Despite his youth, many have described Nick as "an old soul" and people of all ages are comfortable when they interact with him.

Hal Brown

Funeral Director's Assistant

Hal joined the Cooper Funeral Home team in 2022.  Recently semi-retired from the OPP in Haldimand and a long-time resident of the area, Hal will be a familiar face to many and as with the rest of the team, you may expect a warm welcome and a friendly greeting from him at all times.

Lisa Cooper

Receptionist

Lisa is Ian's wife and partner in Cooper Funeral Home.  While most comfortable behind the scenes assisting with clerical and graphic design tasks, you will frequently see her at the reception desk or at the front door, offering assistance as needed.

Teresa Prinzen

Bookkeeper & Office Assistant

Teresa has been part of Cooper Funeral Home's clerical and finance team for many years and continues to be an invaluable member of the staff.  While she maintains full-time employment elsewhere, her passion and commitment to supporting the staff and clients of Cooper Funeral Home is exceptional in every way.

Brenda Cooper

Receptionist

Brenda is the wife of Martyn and co-founder of Cooper Funeral Home. She is also the mother of 4 children, grandmother of 16 and great grandmother of 1. Although she has retired from regular attendance at the funeral home, on occasion you may see her at the reception desk, ready to assist people with processing of donations and offering other information that they may require.
